The Valley of Mines is calling once again—and this time, it looks absolutely stunning. The Gothic 1 Remake just got a brand-new Gameplay + Release Window Trailer, and developer Alkimia Interactive is giving the cult classic action-RPG a serious next-gen overhaul. If you’re a long-time fan of gritty Euro-RPGs or missed the Gothic train the first time around, this is one remake you’ll want to keep on your radar.

A Dark Fantasy Returns

First released back in 2001, Gothic helped define the “tough but rewarding” school of RPGs—think Elder Scrolls with rougher edges and tougher moral choices. Now, Gothic 1 Remake is ready to reintroduce players to the Valley of Mines, a harsh prison colony where danger lurks behind every rock, and every choice you make has lasting consequences.

The new trailer showcases revamped combat, gorgeous world-building, and plenty of old-school charm with modern polish. Everything from the creature animations to the weather effects looks like it’s been completely rebuilt for today’s consoles and rigs.

Gothic 1 Remake is officially slated for Early 2026, launching on:

  • PlayStation 5
  • Xbox Series X|S
  • PC (Steam)

And that’s not all. For the nostalgia junkies out there, Gothic Classic, Gothic 2 Complete Classic, and Gothic 3 Classic are also heading to PlayStation and Xbox in 2026. That’s a full-on Gothic renaissance.
